📣 Advertiser Terms & Refund Policy

1. Agreement

These Advertiser Terms apply when you create an advertiser account or purchase any advertising placement, backlink or sponsored content on GuesTheCity (the "Placements"). They are in addition to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Orders & Review

All orders are subject to our review and approval. We may decline or remove any Placement at our discretion — for example if the content is illegal, misleading, adult, gambling-related, infringing, or unrelated to travel. Placing an order does not guarantee acceptance.

3. Billing & Payment

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full card details.
• When you check out, your card is authorised (funds held) but not charged. We only capture (charge) the payment once we approve your Placement.
• If we reject your order, the authorisation is released and you are not charged.
• Prices are shown in USD and, where applicable, exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.

4. Refund Policy

• Before approval: no charge has been taken, so there is nothing to refund — the card hold is simply released.
• Monthly placements: you may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid period runs until its end date and is non-refundable.
• One-time placements (backlinks, sponsored articles, newsletter): once the work is delivered/published it is non-refundable. If we fail to deliver, you receive a full refund.
• If we remove an active Placement for reasons that are our fault, we refund the unused portion pro-rata.

5. Creative & Content

• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the business name, headline, images, links and other creative you provide.
• You grant us a licence to display your creative within the Services for the duration of the Placement.
• Images must be ones you own or are licensed to use. We may reformat creative to fit our layouts.

6. Backlinks & Sponsored Articles

Sponsored content and backlinks are placed within relevant, editorial context. We reserve the right to add appropriate disclosure labels ("Sponsored"). We do not guarantee any specific search-ranking outcome, traffic volume or conversion result.

7. Performance & Reporting

Impression and click figures shown in your dashboard are provided for guidance only and may differ from third-party measurements. They are not a contractual guarantee of results.

8. Suspension

We may suspend or terminate an advertiser account that breaches these Terms, submits fraudulent payment, or repeatedly posts rejected content. No refund is due for Placements removed due to your breach.
